Kevin
LaChapelle served as a police officer specializing
in gang prevention and intervention strategies. Mr.
LaChapelle has been the recipient for many awards for
his leadership within communities and is known for his
innovative and strategic approach to intervention techniques.
Mr. LaChapelle is called upon by communities in the
United States as well as other countries to assist in
addressing community violence and criminal activity
involving young people utilizing proven effective programs
and strategies. Mr. LaChapelle has proven expertize
in juvenile delinquency prevention, gang intervention,
and mentoring. Mr. LaChapelle comes from a very diverse
family which allows him to understand many cultural
issues.

Mr. LaChapelle conducts
workshops
on a variety of topics throughout the U.S. and other countries.
He is knowledgeable and always incorporates strategy and innovation
in his curriculum. He has authored two books, Please
God, Don't Let My Badge Tarnish, and PowerMentor:
The Art of Mentoring. LaChapelle most recently has led
workshops on The
Gift of ADHD: An Innovative Approach.
Mr. LaChapelle holds
a Bachelor's degree in Business Management with an emphasis
in Organizational Behavior, a Master's Degree in Public Administration,
and is currently seeking his Doctor of Education in Leadership.
Mr. LaChapelle serves
as a college adjunct instructor. In addition, he serves on
various boards including non-profit organizations and is President
of the Governing Board for Promise
Charter School in San Diego. He leads team building excursions
such as river raft trips, rappelling and humanitarian relief
projects to be used as a catalyst in developing leaders and
mentors to be effective in what he has termed, powermentoring.
